The Holidays are here! Climate change shows its face with yet another year of snowfall in both Los Santos and the driest areas of the western heartlands, the Gooch and even rumours of a Yeti appear in the woods, the eCola-sponsored ^{(be sure to get that Sprunk sweater out of the eCola truck! Yup!)} Holiday Hauler makes the rounds from Legion Square to Paleto Bay, Christmas trees decorate people’s interiors all over the state, and much more.

That one never leaves us, does it – whether it’s a New Moon, a Waning Gibbous or a Full Moon… and hey, some have even walked its soil, others speculate that it might be colonised in 50 years and you’ll be getting your care, job and residence there.

The deepest sunsets and sunrises begin, leaves start falling, the first snows in places as well, and the rains and storms of the season that make you want to stay cosy at home… Although one could say that in parts of the world the Autumn is basically not at all different from the Summer at the moment! That would be me – might as well be posting pictures of beaches anyway!

What happens in the dark, comes out in the light… at least that’s what some people say. Whether that’s referring to a horrible murder, a bank robbery, something a bit more on the marital side, or a worldwide pandemic where everybody turns into a horrible noisy thing that’s done their fair share of cardio overnight, it doesn’t seem to matter.

The nights in Red Dead Redemption 2 have their visual and sentimental strengths – at least for most. Because at the same time plenty of innocuous activities happen at night, a lot of the dubious and perhaps terrifying stuff also happens at this time of day.

From the nights of Saint Denis, to the Night Folk of Lemoyne, from the constellations and the Milky Way, to the beautiful sights of the Ambarino snow, this week we have it all, in the dark, from the community’s lens. Enjoy.

In an unprecedented move within the GTA modding scene, Rockstar Games yesterday announced that the team behind FiveM and RedM multiplayer on PC has officially joined the company.

Cfx.re, or CitizenFX Collective, is a small team behind the development of both FiveM and RedM clients, a PC multiplayer mod that connects to Grand Theft Auto V or Red Dead Redemption 2 to essentially provide a virtual playground with online play. Creators can host their own servers, or buy external hosting, via the frameworks, paving the way for an endless amount of custom content such as game modes, stories, missions, and most-notably, roleplaying.

Growth has steadily increased since the first iterations of the mod released in 2014, with GTA RP (roleplay) exploding on live-streaming services and well-known content creators still leading GTAV views on Twitch today; there are frequently over 200k players online at any given time. One of the most notable servers, NoPixel, retains a massive community with a dedicated development team of their own.

None of this would be possible without FiveM and RedM, and as of yesterday, it’s all officially part of Rockstar Games, painting a bright future for community-driven play and user-generated content.

Day-to-day operations will not change right now and support will continue to be lead by Cfx.re, according to the team and Rockstar Support, but with Rockstar’s backing, wider improvements to the platform can easily continue, and we’re sure there are lots of plans for months ahead from this incredible collaboration.

Today we are extremely excited to announce that Cfx.re, the team behind the FiveM and RedM projects – is now officially a part of Rockstar Games!
This is a huge step forward in the growth of our community, and an opportunity for us to work with Rockstar Games to advance the FiveM platform and the creative community surrounding it.
While our day-to-day operations won’t have any noticeable changes, with Rockstar’s support, we are going to continue to improve our platform and we are truly excited for what this means for our users, community, and creators!
And for those curious about what else Rockstar is working on, please understand that our partnership with Rockstar Games is focused on our FiveM and RedM platforms. So please, do not ask us about the next GTA!

Ah, Blackwater. The stage of many a robberies, many a sights of the Old West developing and dying out, and the hub of culture of West Elizabeth, being its state capital. In 1899, the Van der Linde Gang conducted a large ferry robbery there, one that wasn’t so successful. After botching it, they were forced to flee.
By 1907, John Marston had been able to go back and revisit it, as he did in Red Dead Redemption, set in 1911.

This week, we look at Blackwater between 1899 and 1907, through the eyes of the community. A town constantly in development, it features a big, modern theatre, general stores, a big saloon, a port ready for the biggest ships, cultural events alongside their impressive poster art, its diverse outskirts and much much more. Count your rainbows, and not your thunderstorms, or so they say.
Rainbows have been a mainstay during rainy weather in most previous Rockstar games, but Red Dead Redemption 2 has brought these back in an even more pretty fashion. Dynamic, ever-changing storms with a chance of double rainbows, and even moonbows near lakes or in rainy weather at night, have made the community chase after the proverbial pot and get their cameras out over the years.

This week, we go over the rainbow and look at all the colourful sights the community has managed to capture. From the iconic sights of Mount Hagen and Mount Shann in Horseshoe Overlook, to the desert, the lakes and waterfalls, and beyond.

No pots guaranteed at either end of each rainbow. Also, observing the rainbow for too long may or may not elicit a bear attack.
