Welcome to Snap Saturday, GTANet’s ode to the virtual photography community who continue to capture some amazingly creative shots across GTA and Red Dead.

Ah, time. For many it seems like something obvious, it just passes, things evolve, people are born and pass away, generations are created, all very straightforward logic. For others however, things might be a little bit different… what if there’s alternate universes? What if our time is actually some other Earth’s time? What if we’re entangled in a time problem and not even we know where things all started? Can we travel in it, can we modify it and cause a disaster as a result?!

This week, we disturb the space-time continuum to go back and forth between the eras of GTA Online and Red Dead Redemption 2 (or perhaps even between a timeline that never had cars and one that did…), and look at the duality of time, the duality of objects and permanence between two very different times. Your horses versus your cars, your high-rises versus your gothic buildings, and much more.

Enjoy! ☄

Welcome to Snap Saturday, GTANet’s ode to the virtual photography community who continue to capture some amazingly creative shots across GTA and Red Dead.

Whether you’re in Blaine County or in West Elizabeth, in modern day or the past, one thing that there isn’t a shortage of is forests and trees. Well, more so in West Elizabeth because we all know what’s been happening to forests in the modern age, and we can only hope that the Los Santos Tourism Board pushes for the big corpos to not completely cut it all off… right? Ah who am I kidding.

This week, and inspired by The Cure’s “A Forest”, and their own Robert Smith’s dream of being lost in the woods, which inspired the song, we look at some of what Nature still has to offer across GTA Online and Red Dead Redemption 2, all from your lenses, older and newer.

Enjoy! 🌳

Welcome to Snap Saturday, GTANet’s ode to the virtual photography community who continue to capture some amazingly creative shots across GTA and Red Dead.

It’s finally June. The month of Pride, longer days, and the nemesis (or the opposite) for many – the stinging heat and hell in the Northern hemisphere, and the rain and cold in the Southern hemisphere… well, mostly.
Regardless of where you’re located, you’ll probably be wanting some rain and thunderstorms to cool you down, or perhaps you’re already sick and tired of those.

In San Andreas, things are warm yet repetitive, although hints of tropical storms and perhaps even a tornado or two (N.B.: please proper severe weather in GTA VI) are becoming reality more and more. Everyone across the state either runs for their lives at the drop of one raindrop, or they take out their phones and cameras and submit things to Snapmatic.
Many years in the past however, climate change may have not been as evident or dangerous, but boy can things get crazy in Lemoyne and even New Austin, from sweeping thunderstorms to the lightest of rains that make for some moody shots.

This week, we look at the magic of the atmosphere across the Heartlands and New Austin, and the current-day state of San Andreas, all from your modern and old-timey lenses – classic, and recent snaps.

Enjoy! ⛈

Welcome to Snap Saturday, GTANet’s ode to the virtual photography community who continue to capture some amazingly creative shots across GTA and Red Dead.

For centuries, the sky has been one of the biggest alleged messengers of the present and future, good graces or bad graces. Constellations seemingly meaning there is something to come, deities who had direct relations with what’s beyond our view, and discoveries made by the greatest scientific minds of this Earth.

Nobody knows what’s beyond the stars – if extraterrestrial or immortal life, a crazed multi-mind AI coming for all of our knowledge, an asteroid crashing onto us, or massive solar flares that make aurorae reach the most unlikely of places.

We do know one of the things that is “beneath” the stars however, and that is all of us on Planet Earth. This week, we look at the beautifully realistic and bright night skies (trivia: every constellation in RDR2 is real) of the Heartlands and beyond, all through your cameras.

Enjoy. 🌠✨

The life of a cowpoke, or a gunslinger if you’d prefer (and I agree!) is certainly one of lots of travelling, sometimes on foot. But then comes the bigger problem. You’re carrying heavy belts full of resources and food, your ammo on your shoulders, alongside a bunch of guns that will probably make people call you a hunchback in 10 years from now.

Things are difficult, but across the 5 states there is no gunslinger without a companion – that is, if you haven’t just gotten off a difficult scrap with a big bear, or a bunch of bandits hiding in the rocks of Ambarino or in the swamps of Lemoyne.
Any purveyor of justice across the Heartlands will probably have some experience taming a horse and making it their friend, in fact, their best friend!

This week, we highlight your best horsey friends, all from your handheld and advanced camera lenses – from the Great Plains to Saint Denis, the mountains, and beyond. Enjoy! 🐴

Welcome to Snap Saturday, GTANet’s ode to the virtual photography community who continue to capture some amazingly creative shots across GTA and Red Dead.

A few weeks ago, and far into the future, this “Tourist Board” in “Los Santos” asked their citizens to grab their cameras and shoot pictures of wildlife that roamed the city and countryside, to submit to this board and earn money for it! What an interesting concept – but one that Mr Albert Mason would probably be quite familiar with, as the father of wildlife photography in the Heartlands.

This week, as it’s the outlaws’ bird photography skills put on the spotlight. Whether you’re looking for that impressive eagle that reminds you of everything America has to offer (what is it?), Blue Jays that for some reason make you imagine a massive storm with lots of them flying around it, or an elusive Owl, there’s a lot here, all straight from your lenses.

Enjoy! 🐦

Welcome to Snap Saturday, GTANet’s ode to the virtual photography community who continue to capture some amazingly creative shots across GTA and Red Dead.

Ah, Spring. The time of year where you’ll either see grey skies the entire season, the sun breaking through only once a week, or, in some cases – if you live where I do in southwestern Europe – a mix of clouds, a lot of dust, and some scenic sunsets and sunrises depending on the day.

San Andreas and the Heartlands 115 years earlier are no exception, but it appears that there’s a whole lot more of orangey weather around these parts, so much so that it’s just another reason for the community to bring out their phones or old-school cameras and just snap some of the most vibey pictures they can.

This week, everything turns into a cosy orange as we look at all the warm pictures that you’ve taken from your ever-active lenses, from the plains and mountains of Red Dead Redemption 2, to the city of Los Santos.

Enjoy!

Welcome to Snap Saturday, GTANet’s ode to the virtual photography community who continue to capture some amazingly creative shots across GTA and Red Dead.

March marks Women’s History Month, and just last week was Women’s International Day. For a few years now we have run a few bumper editions of Snap Saturday highlighting the women featured in some of the Rockstar games – from the fiercest of gunslingers, to camp-keepers, to your own outlaws and criminals or the businesswomen of GTA Online.

Red Dead Redemption 2 marked one of Rockstar’s most significant representations of women in their games, from portraying women’s fierce fight for voting rights in the late 1800’s, to all of the courageous women in the Van der Linde Gang who fought tooth and nail for survival, and to maintain unity and sanity within the group.

This week, we feature the women of the Van der Linde Gang, all through the community’s lenses.

Enjoy!

Welcome to Snap Saturday, GTANet’s ode to the virtual photography community who continue to capture some amazingly creative shots across GTA and Red Dead.

Sometimes, enacting massive robberies to something as big as a ferry boat doesn’t go quite well – even less so when you have Dutch van der Linde (a self-proclaimed gravity lover) at the helm. Being wanted by literally everybody in Blackwater and beyond, our gang is forced to escape, sometimes to the most inhospitable of places, which have their own challenges… and new people to build trust with.

From the infinitely icy landscapes of Colter where Sadie Adler is rescued from, to the seemingly comfortable canyons by Horseshoe Overlook (that is before Arthur is cursed with the big T), to the dark, foggy and dangerous swamps of Shady Belle – all in the search of the perfect solution, a way to redemption… a plan to recover what they lost. …a botched plan.

This week, we follow the adventures of our favourite (and least favourite) characters throughout all the places across the four states that they had to escape to, all from your very active lenses. Colter, Horseshoe Overlook, Clemens Point, Shady Belle and more, all the way to the end.

Enjoy.

Sometimes, the hustling and bustling of the cities and bigger settlements across the Heartlands are a little bit too much for the busy cowboy. Perhaps it’s been a difficult week of hunting bounties and sacrificing human lives for money, or perhaps you just prefer to sit still and take in the sights, sounds and everything else.

Whether you’re a townsperson or a country person, regardless of preference, this week we focus on moments and places that evoke feelings of quietude and calm, all from the community’s lenses. Take a deep breath (well maybe not near Saint Denis’ industrial area) and enjoy!
